.The Major Theme Identification Process
In order to lay the foundation of a sustainable blueprint for MSIG Mingtai and to identify corporate impacts, MSIG Mingtai actively communicates with stakeholders and conducts major theme analysis.
In 2023, based on last year’s (2022) major themes, we will further define and rank the major themes that we will continue to focus on by identifying organizational context, identifying impacts, assessing significance, and recognizing issues in accordance with the GRI theme criteria, the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) major themes for the insurance industry, industry trends, and the operating strategy of MSIG Mingtai. We further define and prioritize the major themes that require continuous attention by identifying organizational contexts, identifying shocks, assessing significance, and recognizing issues. |

The identification of materiality is closely related to the continuous identification of shocks. To ensure the representativeness and accuracy of the follow-up survey, MSIG Mingtai has sent out medium and English versions of the materiality survey questionnaire to eight types of stakeholders. The questionnaire is designed to identify shocks using “shock attributes” and “double significance” respectively.
After a major questionnaire survey on the impact on corporate sustainability, MSIG Mingtai has identified “economic performance,” “corporate governance,” “information security,” “customer relations and fairness,” and “corporate governance” as the issues affecting the sustainable operation of enterprises. For economic, environmental, and human rights impacts, “information security,” “energy management,” “climate change risk management,” “human rights policy,” and “corporate governance” were ranked as the top five impact issues. |
